Kit Fisto is a Nautolan Jedi Master from Star Wars Episode 2-3. I purchased this costume already assembled. The mask was a 3/4 mask, no hands, no light saber, and no neck support.
I decided to redesign the mask and hands. I purchased a Don Post Kit Fisto mask. I then trimmed the face and attached it to the existing mask. I then constructed the hands from the tentacle-tresses that were left over from the Post mask. Several layers of latex and paint to match the head and those were done.
I then took a stretchable fabric and layered several coats of painted latex over it. After a couple of days to let it dry, I then attached part of it to the redesigned mask to create a neck, and then took the left over to cover a firm sponge to act as a neck support. When all finished, the entire mask weighed between 20-30 pounds. As an alternative, and whenever i was going to be using the lightsaber, i created a pair of "Clone Wars" gloves to give me more dexterity.
Other updates that I did for this costume was to purchase a robe and Kit Fisto's lightsaber. A new tunic was created, as well as some sewing to allow for a more accurate fitting was done.
One of the highlights of redesigning this costume was that it was chosen for a series of sketches for Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, FL.
This costume was very fun to wear, and Kit is a great character to play. The weight of the mask, however, was too much for my neck and I therefore had to sell it. That was okay as my next adventure was in a different universe, one called Marvel.
