VANELLOPE VON SCHWEETZ
If you have seen Disney's "Wreck-It Ralph", than you are familiar with the 'sugar-filled' princess named Vanellope. This was a bitter sweet costume, as we were planning on attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at DisneyWorld that year before we found out that our son had developed Myelodysplastic Syndrome from his cancer treatment 4 years previously. Our daughter actually got to wear her outfit during an outing that was provided by the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, MN.
The wig was combed out, put up in a ponytail, and candy accessories were hot glued and pinned into the wig. The rest of the clothes were either bought off the rack at Target or at a thrift store and then dyed the appropriate color. The shoes were modified and I sewed the tongue to the outside to provide more of a sold look, and make it easier to slip on and off.
